Catania vs Pescara Preview - Catania won't ease up

Catania coach Rolando Maran wants his side to fight for every point they can get, despite already making it a record-breaking season for the Sicilian club in Serie A.
With two games of the campaign remaining, the Rosazzurri have already picked up more points than in any previous top-flight campaign, but after drawing 1-1 with Sampdoria in midweek, Maran now wants to end the season with two more wins.
"We are honouring the league to the very end and we want to push to get the most out of it," he said.
"After we equalised (against Samp), we looked for a winner and now I want us to aim for another objective, which would be to gain a position.
"We have this possibility within our reach."
To help them, Maran hopes the Stadio Massimino will be full.
"The fans have put their hearts into it this season and it is important that they come out against Pescara so we can all celebrate together," he said.
"That is something we really want. We have the chance to finish eighth in the table."
Not only would finishing eighth be a significant achievement, the chance to overtake Inter Milan and leave them behind in the table is another source of motivation.
The two teams are separated by just a point while Catania have a comfortable six-point advantage over 10th-place Parma.
Pescara's relegation to Serie B was confirmed weeks ago and a 4-0 defeat at home to AC Milan in midweek laid bare their limitations.
They travel to Sicily still without their injured first-choice goalkeeper Ivan Pelizzoli, whose place will again be taken by Mattia Perin, while Vladimir Weiss is again likely to miss out for Cristian Bucchi's men.
