STEPHANE MBIA admits going to QPR was the wrong move — and he is now set to leave.
The Cameroon international joined for £5million from Marseille last August, with Joey Barton moving on loan to the French club as part of the deal.
But now Mbia, 26, wants out of the relegated club. He said: “There was a very, very good sporting project at QPR. But there wasn’t cohesion between certain players.
“Things happen quickly in football. I have a career plan. It’s true it wasn’t what I expected at QPR.
“QPR had an excellent project in place, in the sense they recruited well.
“When I joined we were second-to-last but with the players they signed and with Loic Remy coming, I told myself ‘Why not?’
“But I’m an international and you know very well to be in the national team you have to be in a competitive team.
“I will have a discussion about my future. I’ve one year left on my contract so in six months I’m free.
“My team-mates and I tried to do everything to keep the club up.
“Marseille are the team in my heart, along with Rennes. I prefer England or France.”
However, Mbia denied trying to engineer a move to Marseille by sending Barton a tweet offering to swap back.
Both QPR and the player believe that his Twitter account was hacked.
