Nedved lauds Juventus' 'winning mentality'

Juventus legend Pavel Nedved believes the 'winning mentality' possessed by the team enabled them to retain the Serie A title this season.

The Bianconeri's narrow 1-0 victory over relegation-threatened Palermo on Sunday was enough for them to be confirmed as this season's Serie A champions.

Antonio Conte's men have been near unstoppable in the league, amassing an incredible 83 points from 35 games and losing only four games the entire season.

Nedved, who played over 200 games for Juventus and won two Serie A titles with the club, lavished praise on the 'winning mentality' of the squad and claimed everyone involved with the club played a huge part in their 29th title triumph.

"Everyone has a superb winning mentality and done really well, be it the coach or the group of players," Nedved was quoted as saying by the official Juventus website.

"I think they've all improved since last year's triumph, so you can only take your hat off to them.

"Someone who symbolises the success? It's tough to pick just one, I think the applause should go to the coach and all the players because, like I said, everyone's improved in so many aspects - progressing in the Champions League and winning the Scudetto by this kind of margin is a really difficult thing to do.

"A great deal of credit should also go to Andrea Agnelli. He hired this management three years ago, and everyone's putting in a lot of hard work."

Nedved also revealed Juventus were not planning to rest on their laurels and were already looking forward to improving the team for next season.

"We've already heard our CEO Giuseppe Marotta and coach talk about the next steps," Nedved added.

"Even after two Scudetto titles and a Super Cup victory, there are still other targets in mind, so we have to sit down and discuss how we can improve and what's required to keep on winning."

Juventus will take on Atalanta in their next Serie A fixture.
