Dumbarton 0 : 0 Partick Thistle - Agnew agony in stalemate

I have a say

Only the post kept Dumbarton's Scott Agnew from scoring as his side played out a goalless draw with Partick.

The first half was a scrappy affair with very few clear-cut chances for either side, but the game came to life after the break.

The hosts should have taken the lead in the 68th minute when Agnew let fly from 20 yards, only for his effort to clatter the upright before bouncing away to safety.

The champions pushed for a goal in the closing stages of the match but were unable to make their chances count.

Stuart Bannigan and Aaron Sinclair had opportunities to break the deadlock late in the day but neither of their efforts troubled Dumbarton stopper Jamie Ewings.
