Hamilton will be without Jon McShane when they face Cowdenbeath.

The striker has hamstring injury while Gary Fisher is a doubt after picking up a knee knock and Kieran Millar remains out following knee surgery.

Interim boss Alex Neil said: "Cowdenbeath have to win this game to have any chance of staying up so it will have a real competitive edge to it. We want things to be that way as we looking to keep the momentum we have going into the new season.

"They have to attack and hopefully that will leave gaps for us to exploit as we have goals in our team."

Cowdenbeath hope to have striker Greg Stewart available.

Stewart has returned to training after aggravating an ankle injury and he could feature at New Douglas Park.

But Jason Naismith is out with a thigh problem and Liam Cusack remains sidelined following knee surgery.

Player-manager Colin Cameron said: "It does not matter what happens in the Dunfermline game if we do not win so the objective is pretty straightforward.

"We beat Hamilton back in August and have drawn with them as well so we can go there with some confidence. They have Stevie May in terrific form, however our Craig Moore is bang in form as well and if Greg is available we have good options."
