Roar star Halloran linked with Dusseldorf

Reports emanating from Australia suggest Brisbane Roar star Ben Halloran has caught the eye of Bundesliga outfit Fortuna Dusseldorf.
Halloran, who only joined Brisbane last May after former club Gold Coast United folded, was one of the stars of the recently-concluded 2012/13 A-League season, helping his side finish fifth in the regular season and qualifying for the finals, where they were ultimately eliminated in the semi-finals by Western Sydney Wanderers.
Even before he joined the Roar at the start of the campaign, he was attracting interest from several of the country's biggest clubs but following another excellent term, it looks like a move abroad could be on the cards for the 20-year-old.
An article on the Football Federation Australia's (FFA's) official website has quoted a report by The World Game stating Dusseldorf have been keeping tabs on Halloran, and could be tempted to make him the second Australian in their squad after ex-Brisbane and Melbourne Victory winger Robbie Kruse.
The Esprit Arena outfit are currently fighting against the drop and are only out of the relegation playoffs zone by goal difference, as they are level on points with 16th-placed Augsburg.
Halloran is the latest Australian youngster tipped for a overseas move following a standout year in the A-League, with Central Coast Mariners trio Mathew Ryan, Bernie Ibini-Isei and Trent Sainsbury all expected to leave the newly-crowned champions for greener pastures.
