Wenger admits he's scared of Chelsea's spending power
THRIFTY ... Wenger will have to survive on a paltry £70mil budget

ARSENE WENGER admits he is scared of Chelsea’s huge summer spending power.

The Arsenal boss says the return of hated rival Jose Mourinho would be a good thing for the Blues.

But while the Frenchman has £70million to spend on transfer fees and wages, that will be chickenfeed compared to the cash available for Chelsea’s new manager.

It looks increasingly likely Mourinho will be back at the Bridge and sign Atletico Madrid’s Radamel Falcao for £53million.

Wenger said: “I’m afraid of what Chelsea can do in the summer.

“We have to be prepared for them to be one of the biggest movers in terms of investment once the transfer window opens.

“They have a great base to their squad, notably young players Oscar, Juan Mata, Ramires and Eden Hazard, but I think they will be busy.”

Wenger’s Gunners host newly-crowned champions Manchester United on Sunday — a game that sees the return of striker Robin van Persie to the Emirates.

As for the return of The Special One to West London, Wenger added: “Chelsea have a great coach in Rafa Benitez but, if they part ways, Jose Mourinho would be a good solution.

“He is one of the best in the world but Benitez is doing a good job.”

Meanwhile, Wenger may sign Thierry... 18-year-old Cameroon striker Ernest Thierry Anang.

The Panthere Sportive ace, dubbed the new Samuel Eto’o in his homeland, has won rave reviews after his six goals in the Cameroon league.

Arsenal’s spies have watched Anang five times in two months and are ready to pounce this summer.

A source insisted: “Thierry has the quality to play in Europe.”
