Brechin City vs Albion Rovers FC preview - Trouten back for Brechin
Posted Tuesday, April 16, 2013 by PA
Brechin welcome back Alan Trouten from a one-game suspension as they host bottom-of-the-table Albion Rovers looking for the win that will guarantee them a play-off spot.
Graham Hay is doubtful after picking up a knee injury during Saturday's 2-0 win over Arbroath with Ewan Moyes (ankle), Derek Carcary (hamstring), Gareth Rodger (hamstring) and Craig Molloy (knee) all out.
Manager Ray McKinnon said: "We have almost completed the turnaround from relegation play-off contenders to being in the promotion play-offs.
"If we can get over the line by defeating Albion Rovers it will be a great achievement especially with three games to spare after a very demanding schedule.
"It will not be a case of just turning up and getting our place as they will be battling for everything."
Albion Rovers are without banned defenders Alan Reid and Barry Russell for the first of two consecutive meetings with Ray McKinnon's side that could end their spell in the Second Division.
The Coatbridge side are also without Mick O'Byrne, who recently had ankle surgery, and Tony Stevenson, who is suffering from a knee injury.
Manager Todd Lumsden will decide on his striking options after fitness tests on Pat Walker and Steven Howarth.
Lumsden has issued a battle cry to his players to help pull them within four points of East Fife in second bottom place.
He said: "We have had tight games with Brechin already this season so we can go there and win.
"We are still fighting and I want that to continue."
