Ayr kept their slim play-off hopes alive with a 3-1 victory over bottom side Albion.

Mark Roberts' side are seven points off fourth-placed Forfar with three games left after their third win in their last five outings

Michael Moffat hooked home from close range to give the visitors the opening goal in the 31st minute and, just nine minutes later, Liam Buchanan made it 2-0 with a stunning lob from 20 yards.

Christopher Dallas pulled a goal back for Albion 12 minutes after the interval with a low finish from inside the area.

But Ayr wrapped up the points with six minutes left as Scott McLaughlin fired into the bottom corner from 12 yards out.

It was Albion's 12th defeat in 15 outings since the turn of the year and leaves them seven points adrift at the bottom of the table.
