WORST ADE ... Emmanuel Adebayor mis-cues his penalty amid Spurs' dire shootout display

EMMANUEL ADEBAYOR ended Tottenham’s Europa League dream last night.

The sloppy striker casually hoofed his penalty over the bar as the Swiss beat 10-man Spurs in a shootout.

Tom Huddlestone also missed, but boss Andre Villas-Boas insisted: “All of my players were heroes.

“In penalties anything can happen and it wasn’t our day — it’s part of the game.

"I think we set a great standard and a great example this season for English football for the way we approached this competition.”
