The Italian coach feels that irrespective of the outcome of the Ligue 1 side's visit to Camp Nou, they have already proven that they will soon be considered one of Europe's elite
Carlo Ancelotti believes that Paris Saint-Germain have nothing to lose ahead of their Champions League quarter-final clash with Barcelona, arguing that the French side will have a "fantastic" future to look forward to regardless of the outcome at Camp Nou.
The Ligue 1 leaders held the Catalans to a 2-2 draw at Parc des Prince last week, but few pundits are giving them any chance of causing an upset in Catalunya.
Ancelotti has faith in his side, but is nonetheless taking comfort in the fact that PSG have already proven themselves a rising force in European football.
"Nothing will change at PSG even if we don't make it to the semi-finals," the Italian claimed. "The future is fantastic whether we win or lose. We will try to win it next year if we don't win the Champions League this season.
"PSG are happy to be here, because it'll be a fantastic night. Everyone knows we have a small chance of making it, but we do have a chance nonetheless."
Indeed, Ancelotti is taking great encouragement out of the way in which his troops held their own against their illustrious rivals in Paris last week.
"We proved we can play well against a fantastic team," the former Champions League winner declared.
"We have to have confidence to play against one of the best teams in the world. We need confidence and character.
"We can't think about our mistakes but about what we did well in the first leg. So, therefore, I am not worried."
