Forfar hold off Brechin fightback

Forfar moved into the Second Division play-offs with a 4-3 win over Brechin at Glebe Park.
Dale Hilson gave Forfar the lead in the 12th minute after firing Martyn Fotheringham's cross home with a sweet right-footed strike from the edge of the penalty area.
Michael Bolochoweckyj added a second when he headed home after 31 minutes, before the visitors notched a third just after the break - Gavin Malin slotting home from 12 yards.
Graham Hay brought Brechin back into the game in the 57th minute with a left-footed strike into the top-left corner from the edge of the box.
Alan Trouten gave the Hedgemen a fighting chance of a comeback when he pulled back a second for City with 14 minutes remaining.
Gavin Swankie added a fourth for Forfar after 84 minutes, seemingly putting the game beyond Brechin.
Trouten managed a third for Brechin after 86 minutes, but Forfar held on for a win that will be vital to their promotion aspirations.
