Inter Milan have stolen a march on Arsenal and Newcastle and produced a bid for Gabon hitman Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, according to sources in Italy.
The 23-year-old's reputation in Europe has soared this season following his prolific form for Saint-Etienne - he has scored 17 times in 30 league appearances - and a string of sides across the continent are monitoring his progress.
After losing Demba Ba to Chelsea in January, Newcastle boss Alan Pardew is on the hunt for attacking options, while Arsene Wenger is also looking for a new striker.
But Italian newspaper Tuttosport claim Inter Milan have made an offer - although their 10m euros bid for the forward was turned down.
However, Inter are still locked in negotiations with Saint-Etienne and are hopeful of concluding a deal.
