Brechin City vs Forfar Athletic preview - Rodger blow for Brechin
Posted Tuesday, April 09, 2013 by PA
Brechin's on-loan St Johnstone youngster Gareth Rodger is struggling to face visitors Forfar due to a hamstring problem that also kept him out of the Glebe Park side's 3-2 defeat against Stranraer at the weekend.
Ankle injuries keep out Ewan Moyes and Jonny Brown with Craig Molloy also missing due to a knee problem as manager Ray McKinnon looks for a positive reaction after Saturday's setback.
McKinnon said: "One of the reasons we lost on Saturday was that we did not kill Stranraer off when we had the chance. We need to be more ruthless against Forfar as they will be coming here boosted by two wins in a row and with the chance of moving back into a play-off place."
Forfar have a full complement of players available to face hosts Brechin, with the exception of long-term injury victims, goalkeeper Derek Soutar and midfielder Keith Gibson.
The Loons can move back into fourth place two points ahead of Arbroath if they win a third game in a row and manager Dick Campbell said: "This is a great time of the season to go on a run of winning games and hopefully we can get another one at Brechin.
"We have the prize of going back into a play-off place waiting for us and I want that prize.
"We played some great stuff against East Fife on Saturday but had to rely on a late goal to beat them 3-2 as we missed chance after chance. Hopefully against Brechin we will be more clinical."
