The Frenchman has urged Spurs to stop selling their key players and do everything in their power to keep hold of the Wales international if they want to to achieve success
David Ginola has urged former side Tottenham to do everything in their power to keep star man Gareth Bale at White Hart Lane this summer.
The Wales international has been in top form for Spurs this season, scoring 27 goals, which has led to speculation linking him with moves to Real Madrid and Manchester United.
Ginola, who spent three years in north London, thinks his former club will be hit with a number of offers for their prized possession and has urged them to spend big in order to keep hold of the in-form 23-year-old.
"You have to break the piggy bank and spend it on Bale," Ginola told The Mirror.
"It will be a question of money. Knowing the salary cap at Spurs it will be complicated."
Ginola also warned Spurs not to repeat the "mistakes" they have made in the past of allowing their top players to leave and insists they can only achieve success if they keep hold of their big names.
"They are going to have offers on the table, but if you want to keep being successful it is important that you keep your best assets, and Gareth Bale is one of them," he added.
"Spurs have made mistakes in the past like selling [Dimitar] Berbatov, [Luka] Modric and [Rafael] van der Vaart. Let’s not do mistakes any more.
"Last summer they were minus two key players and had to rebuild the midfield."
