Cagliari to face Inter in Trieste

The Italian League says Cagliari will play Inter Milan nearly 1 000 kilometres (600 miles) away in Trieste amid ongoing confusion about the rest of the club's remaining Serie A home games this season after abandoning their troubled Is Arenas Stadium.
Cagliari announced on Friday that they will play their remaining home games at Trieste's Stadio Nereo Rocco. However, Trieste sports authority official Bruno D'Agostino said he is "completely surprised" by Cagliari's request as stadium is currently undergoing reconstruction work.
The league made an inspection and ruled the work can be completed before Cagliari plays Inter on April 14.
Cagliari have been plagued by safety issues since moving into Is Arenas this season, forcing several games to be played without fans in attendance.
