Graham Taylor: It will be hard for Aston Villa to stay up

Former Aston Villa boss Graham Taylor has admitted that Paul Lambert faces a tough task to keep the club in the Premier League.

The Midlands side currently sit 18th, and in the relegation zone with seven games to play, after a torrid campaign which has only been intermittently brightened by the goal scoring form of Christian Benteke.
And with Lambert having no real transfer budget he has admirably stuck by several precocious youngsters who have tried their best to keep the Villans in the top flight.
But, after hailing the club’s supporters for understanding the financial restrictions holding back the former Norwich boss, Taylor told talkSPORT that the Scotsman will have a hard job on his hands to keep the club in the Premier League.
He told Saggers and Quinn: “The Aston Villa fans are very worried at the moment but I have to say they’ve stuck behind their team.
“There are some of them who realise what Paul Lambert has come in to. The money isn’t available that was previously and he’s now encouraging the young ones.
“I really do hope they stay in the division but I think it’s going to be a hard job for them.”
