Arbroath moved into fourth place in the Second Division table following a 0-0 draw with Stenhousemuir.

In the opening exchanges, Paul Sheerin fired over for the Red Lichties while, at the other end, Bryan Hodge also missed the target with a right-foot effort.

Stenhousemuir had not won in their last five matches and they came under pressure in the second half.

Substitute Lee Sibanda really should have done better when he lashed an effort wide from inside the box. Then Colin Hamilton's free-kick was saved by Chris Smith.

But Michael Travis squandered the best chance of all, heading over the top from just six yards out, while Steven Doris was also off the mark right at the death.
