Carlos Tevez will drive Man United mad if he dodges jail

CARLOS TEVEZ has been backed to drive old club Manchester United mad again next week — providing he avoids a prison sentence today.

The Manchester City forward will be in Macclesfield Magistrates’ Court this morning charged with various motoring offences after he was stopped in Cheshire last month.
He faces a six-month jail sentence if found guilty — although he is expected to be given community service.
That would mean he is clear to carry on preparing for the Manchester derby on Monday and trying to halt his former club’s relentless title charge.
And close pal Pablo Zabaleta says his fellow Argentinian never lets any off-field distractions affect his performances on the pitch.
The City right-back said: “It doesn’t seem to bother him. Roberto Mancini said last time he hopes the police will stop him again because it looks like it is a great motivation for him.
“It was just a small mistake by Carlos. He knows now he has to be calm otherwise he is going to be in trouble. Now he has got some friends to bring him to Carrington every day.”
It is nearly four years since Tevez, 29, quit United and made the controversial switch across Manchester to the Etihad. Yet Zabaleta believes it remains a special occasion for the forward.
He said: “Every time we play against United it is a particularly special game for Carlos.
“He has always done well against them. He was a United player once and I’ve seen him play with great passion against United.
“It will be a special day for Carlos and a special day for the team.”
