Inter lack the quality to aim for the Scudetto, believes Materazzi

The retired Italy star feels the Nerazzurri need to add more signings in order to become a contender for the domestic title, but hailed the decision to hold on to the club's coach
Ex-Inter defender Marco Materazzi believes his former club needs to bring in new players if they want to target the Scudetto next term.
The Nerazzurri currently sit sixth in Serie A, and while the 2006 World Cup winner backs the decision to stick with coach Andrea Stramaccioni, he thinks the club's full potential can only be reached with a few additions.
"If the squad remains pretty much like it has been then it would be hard for Inter to target the Scudetto in 2013-14," the 39-year-old told Gazzetta dello Sport.
"Keeping Stramaccioni says a lot about the club’s intentions for the future. But that move needs to be followed up with the arrival of a few new players.
"It is clear that something has been missing this season."
Inter are in sixth place in Serie A, 21 points behind leaders Juventus, and are currently preparing for their trip to Sampdoria on April 3.
