Bayern Munich coach Jupp Heynckes enjoyed the thrilling 9-2 rout of Hamburg on Saturday night and declared that it was "textbook football" on display.

The Bavarians saw Claudio Pizarro score four goals with further strikes by Arjen Robben, Bastian Schweinsteiger, Xherdan Shaqiri and Frank Ribery completing their biggest win at the Allianz Arena.

Hamburg could only pull two goals back through Jeffrey Bruma and Heiko Westermann although the Dutchman's goal came after the away side were already down by seven goals in the 54th minute.

It was a remarkable display of ruthless efficiency and Heynckes was happy that that all the theory studied ahead of the game was perfectly put into practice.

"We played textbook football at times," he said. "And that's basically what we have to do on Tuesday [against Juventus in the Champions League]."

"It was important to carry on just as we've been doing in recent weeks, by going out and winning our matches.

"It was important for us to tank up on self-confidence.

"You can see the players are enjoying their football, the movement is very good, and the passing too. We played our way out of our opponents' pressing game very well."

With Juventus enjoying a similarly successful season in Serie A, with a nine-point lead at the top, Heynckes has warned not to expect them to roll over in the same way Hamburg did.

"It's going to be a completely different game on Tuesday," he said. "Juventus are a top European side who are aggressive and run a lot."

Bayern's Peruvian striker had a match to remember with his four goals and he declared after the game that Bayern were confident of winning the DFB-Pokal and the Champions League trophy in the coming weeks.

"The title is all but in the bag, and that's important. We're almost there in one competition, but we want two further trophies," he noted.

"I've not played for a long time. Four goals is a wonderful total. We want to keep it up.

"Hopefully we'll wrap it [the Bundesliga title] up in Frankfurt [next Saturday]. This is a first-class team, and I'm hoping we win lots this season."

Dortmund were 2-1 winners at Stuttgart to keep the title race alive for another week.
