Arbroath claimed a 4-2 victory in a six-goal thriller at play-off rivals Forfar.

Steven Doris converted from close range to hand the Red Lichties the lead after just seven minutes but Danny Denholm ensured the scores were level going into the break when he found the bottom corner from the left-hand side of the penalty area.

Chris Templeman then put the hosts in front, Gavin Swankie once more the provider, but the lead lasted just a minute as Colin Hamilton's left-footed finished levelled matters.

Paul Sheerin, who claimed an assist for the equaliser, was at it again in the 73rd minute as his inswinging corner was headed home by Michael Travis to put Arbroath 3-2 in front.

And the visitors made sure of victory a minute from time when Sheerin got in on the act himself with a superb strike from 25 yards.
