Ferguson after record points haul

AIMING HIGH ... Man Utd boss Alex Ferguson
ALEX FERGUSON wants to regain the Prem title with a record points haul.
Manchester United need 22 points from their final nine games to top Chelsea’s high of 95 in 2004-05.
United boss Fergie said: “If we get to 96 points I’d be absolutely delighted. That would be a fantastic season. If we get to that position, we have probably won the league.”
Fergie is stunned to be racing away with the title in March, having lost out on goal difference to Manchester City in the final seconds of last season.
He added: “With Manchester City coming on the scene and Chelsea and Arsenal and Spurs, you have teams vying for that top-four position.
“I expected it to be really tight. After last year we wanted to make sure we didn’t lose it on goal difference — and that has improved markedly.
“But I never thought that we would be 15 points clear at this stage.”
