Dawson: Tottenham must be ready for Inter backlash

Tottenham captain Michael Dawson has warned his team-mates to be ready for a reaction from Inter in the second leg of their Europa League last-16 clash.

Spurs go into the match in Milan on Thursday night in a commanding position following their resounding 3-0 victory over the Nerazzurri at White Hart Lane in the first leg.

The north London side can afford to be confident, knowing a valuable away goal will mean Inter have to score five times on the night to progress to the quarter-finals.
However, boss Andre Villas-Boas will be without star man Gareth Bale for the encounter due to suspension, and Dawson expects a big reaction from a wounded Inter side playing in front of their own crowd.

He told the club’s official website: "We all know how tough it is in the San Siro and one thing is for sure, they won’t lie down.

"There is a lot of pride at stake and I’m sure they will be hurting after losing 3-0 like they did at the Lane. We have to be ready for that.

"We’re in a great position, don’t get me wrong and we now have to go there, do a professional job and if we do that, we’ll be okay. It won’t be a walk in the park though, that’s for sure."
