Airdrie United vs Dunfermline preview - No Lynch for Airdrie

I have a say

Bottom side Airdrie are without Sean Lynch as they go looking for only their second home win of the season against troubled Dunfermline.

Lynch is suspended, a foot injury keeps Marc Warren out, Gavin Griffin has a calf problem and Paul di Giacomo hamstring trouble.

But David Lilley should return after playing in a reserve game in midweek.

Manager Jimmy Boyle said: "I do feel sorry for the predicament that Jim Jefferies and his players have found themselves in recently but we cannot be anything other than professional about things on the park.

"We have our own concerns about being where we are and need to go all out for the win that will hopefully kick-start our season."

Dunfermline will be without Jordan McMillan and Andy Geggan through suspension as they look to forget their off-field financial problems

Injuries keep out a further four players with Stephen Jordan missing due to a thigh problem and ankle injuries ruling out Josh Falkingham, Shaun Byrne and Andrew Barrowman.

East End Park assistant manager Gerry McCabe said: "We are looking for a better performance than the one we had against Partick last week when we were really poor in the first half.

"It was perhaps a reaction to what has been going on but football can be an escape route from negative headlines and hopefully we can use it this week. Airdrie will be fighting for everything and we need to be as well."
