Arsene Wenger is lookign at options to bolster his strikeforce
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger could be set to bolster his side’s attacking options in the summer as he eyes a move for Auxerre youngster Yaya Sanogo.
The 20-year-old is wanted by clubs in Italy, Germany and France following his impressive form this season, with interest peaking last month after he netted seven goals inside a week.
Sanogo began the week with four goals against Laval, before bagging a hat-trick against Tours seven days later.
And now reports in France suggest Wenger is preparing to make a move for the striker as he looks to strengthen his side for next season, with the prospect of the Gunners having no Champions League football to offer prospective signings.
Arsenal currently sit fifth in the Premier League but are five points behind fourth-placed Chelsea.
Should Wenger’s side finish outside the Champions League qualification places, the Frenchman may struggle to keep hold of some of his current crop of players, as well as attracting experienced names to the Emirates.
