Swansea City manager Michael Laudrup has revealed Jonathan de Guzman wants to stay at the Liberty Stadium on a permanent deal.
The 25-year-old Canadian-born Netherlands international is currently on loan from Villarreal until the end of the season, while reports have suggested the newly crowned Capital One Cup winners are already holding talks with the Spanish club over a transfer.
Laudrup has previously admitted he would like to retain De Guzman beyond the end of the campaign and claims the midfielder is happy to remain in the Premier League.
"It's always difficult to say what's going to happen," Laudrup told reporters. "A lot of clubs are thinking about the end of the season; promotion, relegation etc so they have a lot of important things to think about.
"Jonathan is playing very well and he's scoring goals. But he is happy here, and I know he wants to stay here."
