Albion Rovers FC vs Stenhousemuir preview - Peter back in for Albion
Posted Tuesday, March 05, 2013 by PA
Bottom-club Albion Rovers have Peter Innes available after suspension for what is shaping up to be a must-win game against Stenhousemuir.
Steven Howarth is struggling with a hip injury, Chris Boyle is doubtful due to a hamstring problem and Mick O'Byrne remains sidelined after recent ankle surgery.
Rovers have not picked up a point in their last nine games and manager Todd Lumsden said: "We need a win to spark a run that will give us a chance of catching Stranraer and East Fife.
"The gap is 12 points just now but we are still in there fighting.
"Stenhousemuir are a decent side but we have to go out and battle for the win that will give us a chance of getting enough points on board."
Stenhousemuir striker John Gemmell will be available to face his former club after the Warriors appealed his sending-off in Saturday's 3-3 draw with Brechin.
Not such good news for the Ochilview men is that Kevin McKinlay suffered a calf strain at the weekend and skipper Ross McMillan continues to be out with a similar problem.
Craig Anderson is a doubt after illness.
Manager Martyn Corrigan said: "Having reviewed footage of the game we believe that we have a very strong case for John's red card being overturned. He can play until the panel sit so he is included for Coatbridge.
"Albion Rovers away is always a hard fixture and we are preparing for that to be the case again. To get into the play-offs we have to win games like this."
