Real Madrid defender Pepe believes his team-mates will come out on top in their Copa del Rey clash with Barcelona if they stay true to form.

Pepe backs Real style to trump Barca

After a 1-1 semi-final first leg draw at the Bernabeu, the Catalans are considered the favourites to progress with Tuesday's second leg being played at Camp Nou.

However, Pepe is in no doubt the team can progress past the current La Liga leaders but only if they carry out manager Jose Mourinho's instructions to a tee.

"Play as a team, like we always try to do in every match," Pepe told the Bwin website.

"If we play as a team we'll definitely have a good chance of winning the playoff. We have to remain true to our style of play and do what coach Mourinho asks and we'll have a good chance of winning the playoff".

Pepe is not known for being a huge goal scoring threat but he has managed goals in both La Liga and the Champions League this season.

"It's good to score but I think the most important thing is that the squad wins and, if we play as a team, we have a good chance of making that happen," he said.

He added: "I feel at home [in Madrid]. This is my home, people treat me well in public and also within the club. I feel really happy and people are happy with me".

Barca are the current holders of the Copa del Rey.
