Defoe’s a daddy after ex has a boy

FOOTIE star Jermain Defoe has become a dad for the first time.

The 30-year-old Spurs and England ace’s ex-girlfriend Anne-Marie Moore gave birth to Joshua-James Defoe on Tuesday.

Striker Defoe was at the birth and has seen his newborn son every day since.

And while he and Anne-Marie, 32, are no longer together, friends say he will play a “very active role” in Joshua’s upbringing.

In the past Defoe has earned a reputation as a ladies’ man, dating Chantelle Houghton, Imogen Thomas and Danielle Lloyd.

He got together with Anne-Marie after splitting from former X Factor winner Alexandra Burke last May.

Last night a friend said: “Jermain is thrilled to be a dad. It matures a person and he is determined to live up to his responsibilities.

“Jermain had a wild side in his twenties, which he readily accepts, but this is a new stage in his life.

“He really does want to be a good father and he is an incredibly proud dad.”

Anne-Marie revealed she was pregnant last year when she posted her baby scan picture on Facebook.

She wrote: “There is a special sweetness in being able to participate in creation of life. It’s a Boy... Mummies lips and Daddies head!”

She had Joshua at Stoke Mandeville hospital in Aylesbury, Bucks.
