Beckham relishes being part of 'very exciting' Classique

David Beckham has revealed his excitement at the prospect of featuring in Sunday's Classique between Paris Saint-Germain and Olympique de Marseille.

The 37-year-old Beckham, who arrived at Parc des Princes on transfer deadline day in January after a six-year stint with Major League Soccer's LA Galaxy, is on course to make his debut this weekend after being named in Carlo Ancelotti's team for the Ligue 1 encounter.

While the former Real Madrid and Manchester United man is expected to begin the derby on the bench, he is nonetheless anticipating the experience of immersing himself in another rivalry.

"I have played in a lot of big matches in my career, the likes of AC Milan-Inter, Real Madrid-Barcelona and Galaxy-Chivas," Beckham said at a press conference. "For me, it's very exciting to discover and be part of a new rivalry."

Beckham signed a short-term deal with PSG that lasts through the end of the season. Should he not feature against Marseille on Sunday, he would have the opportunity to again on Wednesday, when the two rivals clash in the Coupe de France round of 16.
