SAVED BY THE BEL ... Mousa Dembele nicks it at the end
ANDRE VILLAS-BOAS last night told Tottenham’s Kings of Lyon: Beat Inter and we can win the Europa League.
AVB saw Mousa Dembele’s last-gasp strike sink the French and send his Spurs through to a last-16 tie against Inter Milan.
The Tottenham boss insisted: “Going through against Lyon and Inter Milan From PAUL JIGGINS in Lyon puts you in a good position to win this competition.”
Tottenham’s double-header against the Italian giants next month will stir memories of their Champions League clashes two seasons ago — which saw winger Gareth Bale burst on to the world stage.

AVB said: “Can we beat Inter? It’s going to be extremely difficult but we will approach both games to win.
“We had two magnificent games against them in the Champions League and we just want to recreate those special nights that everyone remembers.
“We want to continue setting the example in this competition. We think it’s a real example for England and we have been rewarded with two magnificent ties against Lyon and Inter Milan.
“Everyone is buzzing to continue in this competition — which is why we reacted so joyfully at the end.
“I think we still have to make even bigger steps.
“Inter Milan represent exactly that as they won the Champions League a couple of years ago and it’s basically the same team.
Regret “It’s a great fixture for us and I’m really happy.”
Spurs looked to be heading out on away goals after Maxime Gonalons’ opener.
But Dembele’s 25-yard strike in the final minute put the Londoners into the next round.
AVB admitted: “Mousa Dembele certainly made the difference.
“We regret sometimes being a team who needs to react but over the two legs we deserved to go through.
“We’ve been having some great, great results. Hopefully it can serve as an inspiration.
“When you score in the last minutes of a game it brings more confidence in the players to do it again in the next matches.”
