Real Betis' on-loan striker Dorlan Pabon believes the Primera Division side can "go far" ahead of the meeting with Espanyol.

The Colombia international, who joined Betis on loan from Parma last month, is yet to open his goalscoring account in Spain following his two appearances against Atletico Madrid and Real Valladolid.

Betis ended a run of two successive defeats with a goalless draw against Valladolid last weekend while Espanyol have recorded back-to-back wins over Levante and Athletic Bilbao.

However, despite their current run of poor form, Pabon thinks Betis, who are currently eighth in the overall standings, can achieve great success.

The 25-year-old told the club's official website: "Betis is always focused and motivated to do well wherever we go.

"We looked at ourselves, not the opponent.

"The games will tell you, step by step, that we show what we want to do. We can win many things and go far."

According to Spanish website Marca, Espanyol look set to be without Wakaso Mubarak, who arrived two days later than the date specified by the club after the African Nations Cup.

The Ghana international was expected back in training on Wednesday but was still absent on Thursday afternoon, and could now be punished by the club.

Espanyol midfielder Espanyol Raul Baena is also a doubt for the match as he is suffering from back pain while Juan Forlin misses out due to suspension.

Betis could be without midfielder Benat, who has not trained this week and has been receiving physiotherapy on a muscle problem.
