The New England Revolution announced a pair of signings Monday, coming to terms with veteran forward Chad Barrett and defender Bilal Duckett.

Barrett, 27, was a selection in the second phase of the MLS Re-Entry Draft back in December and finally signed with the Revs after returning to MLS following his loan from the Los Angeles Galaxy to Norwegian club Valerenga. In seven years in MLS, Barrett has 42 goals and 27 assists, and he has notched a career-high of seven goals in three different seasons. Arguably his best season came in 2011, when he had seven goals and five assists and played a vital role in helping the Galaxy to the MLS Cup title.

Duckett, 24, played with USL Pro club Harrisburg City Islanders last year after spending 2011 with the Vancouver Whitecaps in his rookie season out of Notre Dame.

“Having faced Chad many times, we’re very aware of the type of competitor he is and the determination he brings to the field, and we’re looking for him to bring that to the field for the Revs now," Revolution general manager Michael Burns said in a team release. "With Bilal, we’re bringing in a tall, physical defender who gives us depth and versatility along the back line. Having him in camp last fall and this preseason has helped his assimilation into our system.”
