Second-place Alloa were held to a 2-2 draw against 10-man Ayr.
The visitors took the lead in the 35th minute when striker Liam Buchanan slotted the ball into the bottom right-hand corner from 18 yards for his first goal of the season.
Debutant Neil McGregor doubled the lead 10 minutes into the second half when the Dundee loanee placed his shot inside the left-hand post from the edge of the box.
The Wasps pulled a goal back just five minutes later through Mitchel Megginson as the striker sent the ball down the middle of the goal from 18 yards out.
Ayr goalscorer Buchanan was given his marching orders after picking up his second yellow card in the space of four minutes with 15 minutes left to play.
Paul Hartley's side piled on the pressure and snatched a point in stoppage time when defender Ben Gordon headed home from 18 yards.
