The Singapore Police Force (SPF) has pledged to aid Interpol in its investigations into match-fixing activities.

Europol revealed on Monday that 380 matches were suspected of being fixed by syndicates in the Far East, including Champions League games in England.

Italian authorities issued an arrest warrant for Singaporean Dan Tan Seet Eng, who was allegedly involved in one syndicate, and local police will help to track down any suspects in the country.

"The authorities in Singapore are assisting the Italian authorities through Interpol in their investigations into an international match-fixing syndicate that purportedly involves a Singaporean, Dan Tan Seet Eng," the SPF told AFP.

"Syndicated match-fixing is a complex global problem that can only be effectively eradicated if all countries work together to combat the scourge.

"This requires law enforcement agencies to share information and intelligence so that concrete evidence can be gathered to support enforcement actions on the ground."
