The Italy international will be out of action for at least a week due to a muscular problem and will have to watch this weekend's league game from the stands due to the knock
Juventus coach Antonio Conte has received some disappointing news on the injury front in the build-up towards this weekend's Serie A match away against Chievo as he will have to make do without the services of Claudio Marchisio.
The 27-year-old picked up a knock in his side's 2-1 Coppa Italia loss against Lazio earlier this week, and consequently faces a brief spell on the sidelines.
"Claudio Marchisio has undergone an MRI scan after taking a knock to his left hip during yesterday’s training session in Vinovo," a statement on the club's website reads.
"The scan, carried out by Professor Carlo Faletti, ruled out any serious injuries and instead revealed a strain in the midfielder’s obturator externus muscle.
"Marchisio is expected to be out of action for between seven and 10 days."
The midfielder has made 18 Serie A appearances so far this season, netting four goals in the process.
