ROBERTO MANCINI is ready to make a £40million summer bid for Liverpool ace Luis Suarez.
The striker tops Manchester City manager Mancini’s wanted list after Mario Balotelli’s move to AC Milan.
He said: “For me, Suarez is a top player. I like him as he is strong, he works. He’s one of the best in England.”
Mancini’s men face Suarez and Liverpool at the Etihad tomorrow.
And asked if he was a player he would like at City, Mancini said: “Suarez plays for Liverpool. He has quality and is strong.”
Mancini is hopeful the lure of being Premier League title contenders and the offer of Champions League football will tempt Suarez.
But the Uruguayan will not come cheap after he signed a new four-year deal with the Kop.
Mancini also has his sights on Napoli’s Edinson Cavani and Atletico Madrid’s Radamel Falcao.
Suarez has meanwhile shrugged off reports that new Bayern Munich boss Pep Guardiola has made him a priority signing.
He said: “We all know how important Guardiola is and the many things he won at Barcelona. But I’m happy here and I get linked to many clubs.”
