STOKE TARGET ... Darren Bent
TONY PULIS is ready to make a deadline-day swoop for both Darren Bent and Jack Butland.
The Stoke boss wants to end striker Bent’s Aston Villa nightmare.
And he has also joined the race for Birmingham’s England keeper Butland.
That raises a question mark over the future of Asmir Begovic, who has been lined up for a possible summer move to Manchester United.
Cash-strapped Brum expect a scrap for Butland today and will sell for around £4million.
They have confirmed the Potters’ interest but no offers have come in since a £6m Southampton bid was rejected last summer.
Fulham, Liverpool, Everton and Chelsea are also keen on Butland, although he has rejected a move to Stamford Bridge as he wants first-team football.
Bent will be targeted by Pulis if he agrees a deal with QPR for Peter Crouch, who is set to team up with his former boss Harry Redknapp at Loftus Road.
Stoke are offering Bent the chance to revive his career after the ex-Spurs and Sunderland ace failed to see eye to eye with Villa boss Paul Lambert.
Scot Lambert prefers Christian Benteke to Bent, who started against Newcastle on Tuesday but was taken off at half-time.
Busy Pulis is also poised to sign FC Dallas winger Brek Shea for around £2m.
