Dumbarton 3 : 1 Hamilton FC - Sons rise off bottom
Posted Saturday, January 26, 2013 by PA
Dumbarton's resurgence continued as they moved off the bottom of the table with a 3-1 win over Hamilton.
Hamilton goalkeeper Kevin Cuthbert kept out James Lister's header but he could do nothing to prevent Chris Turner from nodding the opener.
The midfielder connected with early substitute Mark Lamont's cross from 12 yards to put Dumbarton ahead 11 minutes before the interval.
The hosts doubled their advantage 11 minutes into the second half as Mark Gilhaney's 18-yard shot flew into the top corner.
But striker Steven May's eighth goal of the season - a 30-yard effort - ensured Hamilton halved the deficit.
Dumbarton secured a third successive victory when Jonathan Page slipped the ball into his own net in the final minute.
