The Romanian does not have any resentment towards his former teammate for his decision to leave, but he took the chance to affirm his commitment to the Nerazzurri
Inter defender Cristian Chivu has said that he does not hold anything against Wesley Sneijder after the midfielder left the Serie A outfit for Turkey.
The Dutchman was cast out from the Italian side in his final months after he refused to agree to a new deal with a reduced salary.
But despite his acrimonious departure from San Siro, Chivu does not hold anything against his former teammate.
“It is a touchy subject,” he told Inter Channel. “Some players have been offered a contract worth a certain amount of money.
“So it's difficult to go back to them in the same period and reduce that amount.
“I do not judge anyone in that situation because different people react in different ways.
“I personally feel at home at Inter – I believe in this project. I feel the affection of this club, so I will stay.”
The 32-year-old then took the opportunity to praise Inter's current head coach Andrea Stramaccioni.
“I am very happy with Stramaccioni. He may be young. But he is very well prepared," he continued.
“He gets along with everyone because he talks to all of us – there is a lot of communication, and we try to help him with our experience.
“I believe that considering the changes that have been made at the club, we have done well this season.
“It has been a difficult period – a time for reconstruction. But we have the ability to fight on all fronts.”
