Norwich manager Chris Hughton has admitted his interest in Sporting Kansas City striker Kei Kamara, as the Canaries look to bolster their ailing attack.
Only Aston Villa, Queens Park Rangers and Stoke City have scored fewer goals than the Canaries in the Premier League his season, prompting unsuccessful bids for Swansea forward Danny Graham and Celtic's Gary Hooper.
Luciano Becchio is also thought to be under consideration after handing in a transfer request at Leeds, as well as QPR's Jamie Mackie, but Hughton is also casting his net a little further by looking at MLS-based Kamara.
"Kei Kamara is a player we have made enquiries about, but any progress remains behind closed doors," Hughton told reporters.
The 28-year-old Kamara, a Sierra Leone international, scored a career-high 11 goals for Sporting Kansas City last season, and spent a week training with Stoke in December, but he could now be set for a second chance to move to the Premier League after failing to earn a deal at the Britannia.
