Borussia Dortmund general manager Hans-Joachim Watzke has congratulated Bayern Munich on securing the services of Pep Guardiola as coach.

The Bavarians confirmed on Wednesday that the Barcelona icon would be taking over from Jupp Heynckes at the end of the season, and the 53-year-old feels the move is a demonstration of the quality of the Bundesliga.

"I think it's great," he told Die Welt. "Huge compliments to Bayern for this coup. You cannot begrudge them this. The league is doing really well. The whole world sees that, as we're able to get such a good coach in Germany.

"The pressure on Bayern to succeed will not be any less."

Borussia Dortmund and Bayern are set to face off in the DFB-Pokal quarterfinal in February as Heynckes looks to end his career with silverware.
