Toronto FC parts ways with Bob de Klerk

In a move that is sure to surprise very few, it was announced Monday that Toronto FC and former assistant coach Bob de Klerk have mutually agreed to part ways.
De Klerk, 51, had originally been hired ahead of the 2011 season as first assistant to then-boss Aron Winter. He was named technical manager, an off-field position which put him in charge of the club's technical program and international scouting, in May 2012.
An outgoing personality, de Klerk had rarely been seen publicly since Winter was replaced by current head coach Paul Mariner last June.
"We want to thank Bob for his commitment to the club over the past two seasons," TFC president and general manager Kevin Payne said in a statement. As we enter a new era for the club, we all agreed that this move made sense for all parties.
"We wish him the best in hist future endeavours."
