The Villans followed up their 8-0 hammering to Chelsea by succumbing to a ruthless Spurs side, with Gareth Bale striking a hat trick at Villa Park. The American shot-stopper is confident his teammates can bounce back and has full faith in his manager's ability.
"It's not the result we wanted but we have to keep pressing forward. It's a bump in the road but it doesn't throw us off the track. We know what we're trying to do here," Guzan told the club's official website. "We're still confident as a team and as individuals and confident about where the manager and his coaching staff are taking us. We keep looking forward and moving together and sticking together.
"Coming up short in this one is frustrating, yes, but you have to find a way to keep pressing forward. We know it's not an easy road. Every game in this league is difficult."
Guzan did his part in the two matches, combining for 12 saves, including one of a Lucas Piazon penalty against Chelsea. The Villans have a chance to bounce back over the weekend, welcoming relegation-threatened Wigan to Villa Park.
"For us, we have to take it on the chin and move on. You can't dwell on it too much. You have to find a way to keep moving forward," Guzan said. "We just continue to try and get better. That's what it's all about. We stick together. We are confident about what we're doing as a team and as a club.
"For me, as I said, this is a bump in the road. It's not a result that we or the fans want to see but at the same time we will keep moving forward."
