Newcastle striker Demba Ba could disappoint a host of Premier League clubs after he said he would prefer a transfer to Paris Saint-Germain, the club he supported as a child.

The 27-year-old is reportedly being chased by Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and QPR, who are all looking to take advantage of his £7million release clause in the January transfer window.

But the Senagalese forward has reaffirmed his desire to move to rich French side PSG.

‘I look at PSG as a fan, as a supporter,’ he said.

‘I have never concealed my attraction to the club as a fan, which I have been since I was little.’

The Hoops were the latest club to show their interest but it now seems their new coach Harry Redknapp is unlikely to get his man.

The Gunners were also thought to be keen but their interest has cooled recently.

Chelsea are monitoring Ba’s situation, according to reports, but it seems the forward is dead set on a move to France.

‘Now they (PSG) are doing big and important things, and have big plans for the future,’ he added.

‘Of course I’d like to play in the colours of a team I support.’
