Battling Morton end Partick's run

Morton are up to second in the First Division after coming from behind to end league leaders Partick's 100 per cent home record with a 2-1 win.

Steven Craig headed the home side into a 28th-minute lead after getting on the end of Steven Lawless' cross from the left.

Just after half-time Ross Forbes was denied adding a second as Derek Gaston saved with his feet.

And Morton equalised in the 64th minute as Martin Hardie lashed into the net from close range after Graeme Smith had parried Anthony Wallace's effort from the edge of the area.

Partick went down to 10 men six minutes later as Forbes picked up a second booking for a foul on Craig Reid.

And Morton took full advantage as Scott Taggart fired into the top of the net from close range following David O'Brien's left-wing cross.
