SITTING IT OUT ... John Terry
JOHN TERRY will miss Chelsea’s Capital One Cup clash at Leeds tonight even though he trained yesterday.
The Blues skipper is still suffering pain from a knee injury.
Boss Rafa Benitez said: “JT’s knee is quite complicated. Sometimes it’s really good but then there is a reaction and he has to start again. It’s difficult.”
Benitez insists his squad will be fine for tonight’s quarter-final despite covering more than 12,000 miles in 11 days.
The European champions started their air-mile mission with a trip to Sunderland. Then they travelled straight to Japan to play in the Club World Cup.
After losing to Corinthians in the final, they eventually returned to England on Monday afternoon.
Benitez added: “It is not easy when you have a new manager and then go to Japan and back. But we have to manage the situation and hopefully we’ll be fine.”
