FC Dallas announced the signing of Vasco da Gama forward Wesley “Pipico” Silva on Tuesday.

“Pipico is a dynamic player who gives us some depth at the forward position and allows us to transition into playing in a 4-4-2 system,” said FC Dallas head coach Schellas Hyndman in a press release. “He is an intelligent attacking player with solid finishing ability.”

The forward spent much of his career in the lower divisions in Brazil before moving to top flight club Macaé ahead of the 2011 season. While with Macaé he appeared in 36 before joining up with Vasco da Gama and coming off the bench seven times for that club in 2012.

Despite the lack of matches, Silva has been incredibly productive when he has seen the field since 2010, scoring 19 times and 26 assists in 45 matches in the Brazilian Carioca Serie A and Serie C.
