Blues loss is a crying shame... Luiz Club World Cup woe

DAVID LUIZ was left in tears as Chelsea suffered a stark reminder that none of their old problems have gone away.

Fernando Torres missed two cracking chances to win the Club World Cup final.

But his fragile confidence betrayed him when it mattered most to leave Brazilian star Luiz heartbroken at defeat by his fellow samba stars.

The Blues defender said: “I have a heavy heart. I cried. I wanted to win.

“I dreamed one day of playing in the Club World Cup final. I play for a big club and big clubs win big games and big titles.

“You can cry one night. Tomorrow is another day. The difference was one goal and we had many chances to score. The difference was details.

“I congratulate Corinthians but I cannot be happy. I wanted to win this title.

“I can run for three hours if I want because I work so hard physically. I want to be able to put my head on the pillow every night and know that I have done my best.

“I think I played well and say thanks to God for my life always, in good moments and bad moments. I have a heavy heart but I have an amazing family. I have a great job and a great life.”

So Chelsea touch down in London this afternoon with a definite feeling of deja vu.

Torres is still struggling, their defending is still worryingly dodgy and interim boss Rafa Benitez has still not done enough to get the fans on his side.
